Brent Weaver was born and raised in the farm country of Central California. He attended Goshen College in northern Indiana and did graduate work at the University of Oregon. After completing the doctorate in music composition and vocal performance at the University of Oregon School of Music, Weaver spent 14 years establishing the baccalaureate program in music at Clayton State University near Atlanta, Georgia, home of beautiful Spivey Hall. In 2001 he moved home to Oregon to teach music theory and composition at George Fox University, which has been his home ever since.
